Announcing a Partnership with Cat Guardians

Lombard and Villa Park Veterinary Hospital are excited to announce our new partnership with Cat Guardians, a local cat shelter here in Lombard. Founded in 1988, Cat Guardians has been committed to rescuing and finding loving homes for cats in need. Over the years, they have successfully facilitated the adoption of over 2,000 cats. This collaboration aims to promote the adoptable kittens and adult cats that are at the shelter.

Interested in Adopting?

Kallie, Korrie, and Perry are available to adopt from Cat Guardians, along with many other cats. You can view all of the adoptable feline friends by heading over to the Cat Guardians website. Before you decide to adopt, Cat Guardians has adoption policies and requirements. For Cat Guardians' full adoption process and details, please click here

 Adoption Policy

You must fill out an adoption application. Your completed application will be reviewed by Cat Guardians adoption team and you will be contacted as soon as possible. Cat Guardians need to know you are allowed to have a pet in your home. If you are a renter, Cat Guardians must see a copy of your lease stating that you are allowed to have pets. If you are a homeowner, Cat Guardians need proof that you are currently making mortgage payments. Cat Guardians adoption fee is $150 for kittens and $120 for adult cats. Prior to adoption, all of Cat Guardians cats are spayed and/or neutered, up-to-date on all shots (including deworming, distemper, all yearly inoculations, and rabies if old enough), microchipped, and tested for FIV and Feline Leukemia. This treatment may cost Cat Guardians up to $400 per animal. When you come to take your new friend home, you must bring a sturdy carrier. Cat Guardians cannot let any cat or kitten leave the shelter unless it is safely secured. The cat carrier can serve several different purposes for your new friend. It can be its personal best, and it can be used when taking the cat to the vet or other trips outside the house. Your cat will be much safer and happier in the carrier. Finally, once approved as an adoptive parent/family, you will be given an appointment to pick up your new feline friend on a day Cat Guardians is not open to the public. Please allow 45 minutes for the adoption process. Adoptions are conducted by appointment only. Cat Guardians apologizes if this is an inconvenience to you, but due to Cat Guardians' limited available volunteer base, Cat Guardians needs to streamline their procedures.
