Dr. Amanda Thomas

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Amanda Thomas’s journey in veterinary medicine began right here at Lombard Veterinary Hospital, where she started in December 2020 as a Client Service Representative and Kennel Attendant. Her early experience at the hospital reinforced her passion for animal care and deepened her admiration for the clinic’s close-knit, family-oriented team. Dr. Thomas earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University in 2021 and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois in 2025. Her lifelong love for animals and the joy, kindness, and companionship they bring inspired her to pursue a career where she could give that love back by helping pets stay healthy and happy.

She has a special interest in animal behavior and surgery, but enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine. Dr. Thomas is also certified with the Seal of Biliteracy in both English and Spanish and values building strong relationships with clients through clear and compassionate communication. Outside of work, Dr. Thomas loves traveling the world, exploring other cultures, studying languages, kayaking, watching movies, cooking, and spending time with her family. At home, she shares life with her two dogs: Clark, a puggle mix, and Maddox Jordan (MJ), a Boston TerrierPugAustralian Shepherd mix.
