Our Partnerships
At Lombard Veterinary Hospital, we believe in building stronger communities through compassion, collaboration, and care. Over the years, we’ve partnered with organizations that share our commitment to supporting pets and the people who love them. From training service dogs to helping cats find their forever homes, these partnerships reflect our mission to make a positive impact beyond our hospital doors.
Canine Companions
For more than 25 years, Lombard Veterinary Hospital has proudly supported Canine Companions, a nonprofit organization that provides expertly trained service dogs to people with disabilities, free of charge. With 70 million adults in the U.S. living with a disability and only 16,000 accredited service dogs nationwide, the need has never been greater.
We’ve cared for countless Canine Companions puppies in training, graduates, change-of-career dogs, and their devoted families. In 2025, our partnership helped secure a DuPage County proclamation recognizing September as National Service Dog Month, shining a spotlight on the independence, confidence, and joy these dogs bring to their partners’ lives.
Leader Dogs for the Blind
Our team is also honored to support Leader Dogs for the Blind, an organization founded in 1939 by Lions Club members in Michigan. Leader Dogs empowers people who are blind, visually impaired, or DeafBlind to travel safely and independently with the help of a guide dog.
Lombard Veterinary Hospital provides veterinary care for puppies in training, ensuring they are healthy and ready for the critical work ahead. Volunteers like Jeff Cholewa, a Roselle Lions Club member and dedicated puppy raiser, count on our doctors and staff to keep their future Leader Dogs thriving during their first year of life.
All services at Leader Dogs for the Blind are provided completely free of charge, made possible through donations and volunteer support.
Cat Guardians Adoption Partnership
Founded in 1988, Cat Guardians is a no-kill shelter dedicated to rescuing cats and placing them in loving, permanent homes. To date, they’ve helped more than 2,000 cats find families. Lombard Veterinary Hospital supports Cat Guardians by promoting kittens and adult cats currently available for adoption and hosting adoption-focused community events like Cat Yoga at LVH.
