Not only can we sponsor amazing people and animals with our Lombard Vet Cares Foundation, but we can also use donations that we receive to help families and patients get the veterinary care they deserve. Ragnar is a patient who received care because of the LVH Cares Foundation. This is his success story.
Meet Ragnar
Ragnar arrived at our hospital in January of 2018. He had been hit by a car and was in rough shape. Upon arrival, the team took radiographs that revealed he had a broken left hip and possibly a left stifle injury that ultimately required surgery. Rangar was also positive for Coccidia and had conjunctivitis. We performed the surgery a few days later and he was a brand new cat. According to the team, "Ragnar is incredibly sweet and a purr-machine!" Ragnar was hospitalized for close to 60 days, once he was healthy enough, he was placed into our Adoption Program and was adopted soon after that. Today, Ragnar is living his best life and his family loves him dearly. His new family is very warm, passionate, and incredible. "We did not save Ragnar, Lombard Veterinary Hospital saved him, we just gave him a home," said Sandy, Ragnar's mom.
He loves to be outside, safely on his leash, and go to the pet store for food and treats. Sandy says that he has to stop and check out the rodent section every time they are at the store. He also can enjoy riding in his family's Jeep, feeling the wind in his fur! Ragnar provides the most fun for his family; they cannot imagine coming home each night without him waiting for them.
LVH Cares Foundation
We are so proud to play a part in Ragnar's success story. From the shape he was in when he was brought to us until today, Ragnar went from rags to riches! We used funds from the Lombard Vet Cares Foundation to help provide care for Ragnar and his family. Donations to our foundation allow us to continue to help provide the next "Ragnar" with proper veterinary care.
