Dr. Jessica Kania

Associate Veterinarian
veterinary hospital

Dr. Kania earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University. She completed her undergraduate work at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. Her interests in veterinary medicine include behavior, exotic animal medicine, physical rehabilitation, feline senior wellness, public health, and the fear-free approach to practice. In veterinary school she trained puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind, was a volunteer for her school's pet grief helpline, and was active in organizing and orienting new veterinary students to WSU and the profession. She has volunteered in animal shelters and veterinary clinics since she was 14.

In 2015, Dr. Kania went to Ethiopia for a month with Veterinarians Without Borders to train farmers in biosecurity and common livestock diseases. It was there she found her love for public health. As a veterinarian, Dr. Kania enjoys working at the intersection of human health and animal health.

In her free time, Dr. Kania enjoys reading, crafting, watching movies with her cats Sloane and Keeley, and hiking with her dog, Spaulding.
